Chicago Debates Sweeps the 2024 Urban Debate National Championship!

Chicago Debates has officially SWEPT the 2025 Urban Debate National Championship! Congratulations to Kenwood Academy’s Amanti Washington and Kate’lynn Shaw for defending their school’s UDNC title, as well as Back of the Yards College Preparatory High School‘s Ángel Tierrablanca and Wendy Depaz for becoming the INAUGURAL Debate en Español national champions! Honorable mentions to Northside College Prep‘s Anish Garapaty and Gerald Okuna for advancing to octofinals. We appreciate our fellow UDNC competitors for the great weekend of debate and thank the National Association for Urban Debate Leagues for giving our students a platform on which to raise their voices. We could not be prouder of our students!
