Chicago Debates Joins PTAB Bar Association & IPLAC for Demo Debate and Dialogue

On September 24, Chicago Debates was proud to participate in a special event hosted by the Diversity Committee of the PTAB Bar Association and the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC). Held at the River Point Conference Center, the evening brought together legal professionals and Chicago Debates students for an evening of conversation, connection, and critical thinking.

As part of the program, our students delivered a powerful demo debate on this year’s Policy debate topic, followed by an engaging Q&A session with attendees. The room was filled with curiosity and respect as students showcased their research and reasoning skills, offering a compelling demonstration of what debate can do to prepare young people for future careers—including in law.

Following the debate, attendees enjoyed a networking happy hour where students and professionals continued the dialogue informally, building bridges across generations and industries.

We’re grateful to the PTAB Bar Association and IPLAC for creating space to highlight youth voice and for recognizing the value of debate in developing tomorrow’s leaders.
